The Bolton Mental Health Directorate has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to improve the service delivery within the Inpatient Mental Health Unit. The successful candidate will play a central role in supporting the clinical and operational team to ensure high quality, recovery focussed care is delivered to our service users.
The post holder will hold a caseload and will lead assessment, formulation and prescribing of care/treatment planning, including discharge planning within agreed protocols and procedures and be an integral part of the Multi Disciplinary Team supporting clinical decision making and service pathways. The Advanced Clinical Practitioner will also support with providing a seamless pathway within the inpatient services.
Main duties of the job include providing advanced and expert level of practice (including non-medical prescribing) within the adult inpatient unit leading to improved patient outcomes. The post holder will support the clinical and operational team to deliver on service improvements in the quality of care and safety through service development, evaluation, and audit.
To support improving workforce knowledge and practice through the contribution to an inpatient Mental Health Team education and training programme across the inpatient teams within Bolton.

Person Specification:
- Education/Qualification: Registered First level nurse, MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice, Nurse Prescribing qualification.
- Experience: Experience of working with clients with complex needs, compiling protocols and clinical guidance, audit, experience of working at a senior clinical nurse level.
- Knowledge: Advanced Clinical Practice skills, management of service users with complex needs, clinical examination skills, accountability of own role and other roles within the team, knowledge of local and national health policy.
- Skills & Abilities: Experience of leading/supporting investigations & Rapid Reviews of Care & complaints, communication skills, negotiation and conflict management skills, change management.
