Cornwall Partnership is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic consultant psychiatrist to join the Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service in the multi-agency rapid response service (MARRS). The role will provide clinical leadership to a service providing a crisis response for young people with acute mental health difficulties, across the community and the acute service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This includes working with other professionals such as paediatrics, police, the 136 Suite, the wider community children's services, and the inpatient unit.
Main duties of the job include:
- Providing appropriate support and supervision to other team members.
- Being part of a clinical team providing specialist psychiatric advice to the multidisciplinary team.
- Ensuring effective communication with referring and receiving teams throughout the Trust and Primary care.
- Joining therapy sessions in complex cases where appropriate.
- Being actively involved in the strategic development of the team and broader services.

- Experience:
- Essential: CCT/ or equivalent in CAMHS, substantial experience of managing a busy caseload of clients with a range of mental health problems, evidence of working within a community mental health setting.
- Desirable: Participation in user involvement in services.

- Essential: Experience of assessing and treating young patients and families in acute & community psychiatric settings, ability to offer expert opinion on a range of problems in child and adolescent psychiatry, excellent clinical assessment skills, ability to manage risk.
