Overview
In this role you will join a growing Pharmacy Clinical Trials team to support high-quality IMP management and trial services across oncology/haematology. You will collaborate with senior pharmacists and multidisciplinary teams to enable safe, compliant delivery of investigational medicines and contribute to service development and research. The position offers opportunities to build specialist clinical and research expertise in a supportive environment. A Welsh language aptitude is desirable, with equal consideration for Welsh or English speakers.
Responsibilities
- Support delivery of a specialist clinical trials pharmacy service and management of investigational medicinal products (IMPs) under regulatory and GCP standards
- Assist in reviewing trial protocols, supporting study set-up, dispensing, supply, and monitoring of trial medicines
- Provide pharmaceutical advice to multidisciplinary teams and support patient care
- Ensure documentation, accountability, and traceability of trial activity
- Prioritise workload in a busy, evolving environment and work independently or as part of a team
- Contribute to service development, research activity, and education within the specialist area
- Participate in weekend/public holiday rota to support wider Pharmacy service
Key requirements
- MPharm degree or equivalent
- Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Post Graduate MSc/Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent experience/qualifications
- Broad post-registration experience
- Desirable: HEI Clinical Pharmacy tutor accreditation; non-medical prescribing qualification
- Desirable: experience in specialist clinical area
- Essential: good verbal and written communication; problem solving; ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
- Desirable: teaching, mentoring, protocol development, and staff supervision experience
- Essential: enthusiasm for training and commitment to self-development
