Overview
In this role you join the Pharmacy Chemotherapy and Technical Services Unit to deliver a specialist clinical service for oncology and clinical haematology.
You start on band 6 with a structured progression pathway to band 7, supported by the team and a robust development programme.
You will help ensure safe preparation and provision of chemotherapy medicines and mentor junior staff as you advance.
The position involves cross-site collaboration, ongoing training, and potential home working once fully trained.

Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day management of clinical verification of chemotherapy prescriptions
- Provide GMP-compliant aseptic preparation and timely supply of chemotherapy medicines
- Support staff development and team collaboration within the Technical Services Team
- Act as Authorising Pharmacist under section 10 exemption
- Supervise staff and maintain safe systems of work and quality standards
- Support Clinical Director in delivering high-quality, cost-effective, patient-centred service
- Contribute to intrathecal chemotherapy training and documentation
- Ensure safe handling and release of cytotoxic drugs and products
- Assist in investigations of issues with unlicensed medicines and deviations
- Contribute to pharmacy governance, risk management, and adverse event reporting
- Participate in meetings and development of new aseptic chemotherapy products
- Maintain documentation systems underpinning quality management and regulatory compliance

- MPharm Degree
- Registered with GPh C
- Essential experience in clinical pharmacy and handling complex clinical issues
- Effective communication with senior staff and patients
- Ability to prioritise workloads and work under pressure
- Collaborative and flexible team player
- Knowledge of GCP/GMP/GDP
- Understanding of risk management and clinical governance
