Overview

In this role you will lead procurement activities to deliver value for money and compliant contracting across One LSC. You will work with cross-site colleagues and clinicians to develop and execute procurement strategies, negotiate robust agreements and drive savings. You will act as a trusted partner, guiding stakeholders through complex processes while ensuring regulatory compliance and best-practice procurement. This is a strategic, collaborative role with a focus on high-value contracts and programme delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute procurement strategy and balanced scorecard objectives with the team
  • Lead high-value procurement projects and planning/tender strategies
  • Develop procurement documents and assist with award evaluation
  • Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers for complex contracts
  • Supervise a buying team and manage budget holders across projects
  • Ensure compliance with statutory policies and Trust Standing Financial Instructions
  • Coordinate high-value quotations and tenders across Trusts
  • Capture contract data in the contract register and report savings/efficiencies

Key requirements

  • Experience in a procurement team and staff management
  • Proven project management experience delivering on-time and within budget
  • Negotiation of complex contracts and supplier management
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices and UK legislation/tendering processes
  • Experience in NHS/public sector procurement and use of online tender platforms (Atamis)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
