Overview
As a Consultant Psychiatrist in our General Adult Community Psychiatry service, you will lead the Darwen CMHT and work within a supportive MDT. You will provide medical leadership, collaborate with nurses, pharmacists, psychologists, occupational therapists, and social workers, and contribute to teaching for residents and students. The role offers opportunities to supervise, develop your interests, and engage with our active Medical Education department. Responsibilities
- Provide Medical Leadership to the CMHT MDT
- Collaborate with MDT members (nurses, pharmacists, psychologists, OTs, social workers)
- Participate in Consultant On Call rota (remuneration)
- Contribute to teaching for resident doctors, medical students, and other professionals
- Develop and implement a suitable job plan with the Trust
- Support clinical supervision and medical education initiatives
Key requirements
- Full GMC registration
- On GMC Specialist Register or eligible within 6 months of interview
- Section 12 Approved at start
- AC status or eligible within 6 months of interview
- Leadership and team-working in a multidisciplinary setting
- Teaching and mentorship
- Flexibility and adaptability
- Clinical leadership in CMHT settings
- Experience with General Adult psychiatry in community settings
- Medical Education and supervision
