Overview
Enthusiastic consultant to join ELHT's Clinical Haematology Service across two hospital sites, with a 10 programmed activity week and negotiable flexibility. You will support both clinical haematology and laboratory services, engage in teaching and MDT activities, and contribute to service development. The role involves on-call duties and clinics at Royal Blackburn and Burnley General, with a focus on high-quality patient care and professional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Provide broad clinical and laboratory haematology expertise
- Participate in on-call rota and offer cross-site support across hospital and community settings
- Conduct clinics at Royal Blackburn and Burnley General Hospital
- Engage in teaching for Core Medical Trainees and undergraduates
- Develop an area of special interest and contribute to service development
- Participate in educational programmes and MDT activities
- Support QA and ensure standards within ISO/UKAS frameworks
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient care and laboratory services
Key requirements
- Full and specialist GMC registration with licence to practise
- Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or within six months of award of CCT (or equivalent)
- FRCPath or equivalent qualification
- UK registration eligibility (for non-UK trained)
- Experience in diagnosis and management of haematology disorders
- Commitment to lifelong learning and evidence-based practice
