Overview
As Supervising Practitioner, you lead a Mental Health Support Team in schools, delivering evidence-based interventions and promoting whole-school wellbeing. You’ll supervise EMHPs and trainees, manage a small caseload, and provide guidance to help teams practice safely and effectively. You’ll collaborate with schools and leaders to drive quality, consistency and innovation, shaping system-wide impact and staff development.

Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team in early intervention for children and young people
- Deliver evidence-based interventions within school settings
- Provide clinical supervision and reflective spaces for staff
- Embed best practice, identify risks early and foster a supportive culture
- Coordinate with schools, Team Leaders and Compass to drive quality and innovation
- Shape group interventions and training for staff, liaising with senior mental health leads
- Support staff development and ensure safeguarding and risk management standards
Key requirements
- Qualified EMHP with post-qualification experience
- Either PG Cert in Supervision or equivalent experience with willingness to undertake supervision qualification
- Experience supervising or mentoring others
- Strong CBT knowledge relevant to early intervention/school settings
- Clear communication with diverse stakeholders (young people, families, schools)
- Safeguarding and risk management knowledge
- Full UK driving licence and vehicle access
