Overview
In this role, you will support the Radiology department by handling administrative and clerical tasks to ensure timely imaging appointments and a positive patient experience. You will work with the team to improve efficiency and quality, while developing broader competencies and providing support to colleagues. You will cover reception duties across MRI, X-Ray, CT and outpatient activities, with flexible shifts to match operating hours. This is a frontline role that involves data entry, patient liaison, and adherence to Trust policies.

Responsibilities
- Greet patients and manage MRI and X-Ray reception tasks including safety screening
- Book in-patient appointments and manage walk-in patients to direct them to the Outpatient Department as needed
- Process referrals onto CRIS waiting list (paper referrals from private patients/GP)
- Ensure Ultrasound and CT clinics are processed timely and activity is accurately recorded
- Scan forms (LMP, CT procedure, Undertaking To Pay, etc.) into CRIS daily
- Report equipment faults to line manager
- Operate IT systems and maintain accurate data on Trust systems
- Adhere to Trust and departmental policies; participate in policy updates and appraisals
- Use resources (stationery, phones, consumables) responsibly to minimize waste and cost
- Work independently with minimal supervision and escalate to manager when needed
Key requirements
- Clerical experience, preferably in Health Records
- Experience working in a busy team environment and managing own workload
- Basic education in English and Maths (GCSE)
- Word processing/keyboard skills
- Customer care experience
