Job summaryThere is an opportunity for a motivated individual to join the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust. The appointee will be expected to support the Maxillofacial unit by assisting in all aspects for recovery of services. During the appointment there will be the opportunity to have access to our specialist team with skills in orthognathic surgery, oral surgery and trauma.
The Unit is a regional centre for Head and Neck Cancer, Cleft, Craniofacial and Skull Base Surgery. There are close working relationships with ENT and Plastics.

The Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery Department works across three sites: Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH), Good Hope Hospital (GHH) and Solihull Hospital (SH). The Trust is a regional centre for cancer, trauma, burns & plastics and has the largest solid organ transplantation programme in Europe.
Main duties of the jobThe appointee will be involved in running clinics and theatres at Queen Elizabeth, City Hospital and Birmingham Children 's Hospital. The appointee with be responsible for supporting the orthognathic surgery service, as well as more routine oral surgery commitments at City Hospital. The appointee will be expected to attend multidisciplinary orthognathic clinics at Birmingham Dental Hospital & Good Hope Hospital on a monthly basis. They will fulfil and On-call emergency rota of 1:13 weeks.
