Overview
In this rotational Band 7 role you will contribute to cancer services within a large, multidisciplinary NHS team. You will develop advanced clinical and aseptic skills across oncology, haematology and technical services, improving patient care through medicines optimisation and safe delivery of chemotherapy. You join a tertiary cancer centre with integrated pharmacy services across wards, day units and aseptic suites, offering structured development and cross-site opportunities. You will work with clinicians to support high-quality pharmaceutical care and participate in service development and audits. This role offers a clear progression path to Band 7 with supported training.

Responsibilities
- Clinically verify haem/onc prescriptions
- Provide inpatient clinical pharmacy service to haem/onc wards
- Counselling and supporting oral SACT patients
- Support aseptic services with final release of chemotherapy products
- Assist introduction of new medicines into the service and EP system
- Support service development initiatives
- Contribute to audit programmes
- Support the on-call rota
Key requirements
- Master's degree in Pharmacy
- Completion of first year of clinical diploma or NHSE/RPS pathway or equivalent
- GPhC registration
- Evidence of continued Professional Development in Pharmacy matters
- Experience in NHS healthcare environment with clinicians
- Post-registration hospital pharmacy experience
- Experience in MDT environments
- Experience in managing/supervising staff and delivering training
- Evidence of risk management and service improvements
- Knowledge of NICE, NSF and Medicines Information resources
- Knowledge of hospital clinical pharmacy practices
- Desirable cancer services experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Team working
- Good presentation and written communication skills
- Broad clinical knowledge in hospital pharmacy
- Knowledge of national guidelines (NICE, NSF)
- Experience with Medicines Information
