Overview
In this Finance Business Partner role, you will provide accurate and timely financial insights to support managers and clinicians within a large NHS foundation trust. You will lead on financial reporting, budgeting and performance analysis, partnering across complex departments to influence decisions. The role combines people leadership, cross-functional collaboration and technical accounting to support financial targets and service improvements. This is a hybrid, development-focused opportunity in a values-driven, supportive environment with exposure to senior stakeholders and clinical teams.

Responsibilities
- Produce monthly management accounts and performance information within defined timescales
- Maintain IFRS-compliant processes and an auditable trail of accruals and prepayments
- Quality check month-end outputs and prepare year-end projections
- Supervise Management Accountants and delegate tasks as appropriate
- Generate monthly variance analyses and explanatory narratives for leadership forums
- Present financial and performance information to senior management and budget holders
- Communicate financial performance to budget holders and address issues promptly
Key requirements
- Fully Qualified CCAB member
- Significant experience in financial management within a large, complex organisation
- Up-to-date knowledge of Financial and Management Accounting including IFRS
- Knowledge or interest in NHS targets and performance management framework
- Desirable understanding of NHS policies such as Payment by Results, Patient Choice and Foundation Trusts
- Strong written communication for concise financial reporting
- Analytical ability to interpret complex financial information
- Clear verbal communication and presentation skills for non-financial staff
- IT skills including Financial Systems / General Ledgers
- Microsoft Office proficiency with advanced spreadsheet design
- Ability to use complex formulas for data analysis
