Job summaryWe are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team in the Clinical Biochemistry Department of Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. You should be a HCPC registered clinical scientist and have an MSc or equivalent in Clinical Biochemistry.You should have completed part 1 of the FRCPath and have completed, or recently sat pending results, Part 2 module 1.Candidates close to achieving FRCPath Part 2 module 1 may be considered.Main duties of the jobThe successful applicant will become part of our dynamic clinical team of Clinical Scientists and Consultant Clinical Scientists. The role will include participation in both the Duty Biochemist rota, and the Duty Manual rota alongside input into service development, quality management, clinical audit, clinical training and Multi-Disciplinary Team Meeting (MDT) attendance.The successful candidate would also be expected to participate in our on-call out of hours rota (approx. 1 in 4 basis). They will also be the departments NSHCS STP training officer responsible for any departmental STP trainees.There are regular journal clubs, pathology wide CPD sessions and weekly clinical case meetings that all Clinical Scientists attend to support training towards obtaining full FRCPath. The trust has brilliant leadership development programmes and a QI academy, participation in both will be supported.
