Overview

In this role you will lead design and implementation guidance for data centre networks, WANs, and trust integrations to support ARP’s mission-critical ambulance communications. You will collaborate daily with suppliers, the ARP team, and ambulance trusts to ensure delivery of ARP technologies. You will assess technologies, conduct options appraisals, and oversee testing and delivery across interfaces to national and local programmes. You will stay ahead on 2G/3G/4G/LTE trends and provide clear technical guidance to multiple stakeholder communities. This role offers a meaningful chance to shape critical communications for NHS ambulance services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide design and implementation guidance for Data Centre Networks, WAN and trust integrations
  • Collaborate daily with Suppliers/ARP team/Trusts to maintain network delivery for ARP technologies
  • Oversee WAN/LAN, mobile network communications, and data centre networks for mission-critical programmes
  • Conduct assessments, options appraisals, testing, and delivery of end products
  • Interface with national and local programmes and other service management/technical disciplines
  • Research and communicate on latest 2G/3G/4G/LTE technologies and trends
  • Provide clear technical guidance to technical, service and user communities
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers, users across Ambulance Trusts, NHS, and stakeholders
  • Work in agile development environments and support project management of high-value implementations
  • Security clearance compliance and coordination with stakeholders as required

Key requirements

  • CCIE full certification
  • specialist skills in 2G/3G/4G/LTE technologies
  • experience in agile software development environments
  • WAN/LAN network design with 10+ years of experience
  • mobile communications expertise including requirements gathering, options appraisal, testing
  • degree or relevant experience
  • ability to project manage high-value, complex implementations
  • proven stakeholder management and supplier negotiation (desirable)
