Overview
As Practice Manager you will provide strategic and operational leadership to Walderslade Surgery, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality patient services.
You will work closely with GP Partners to shape priorities, manage resources and drive continuous improvement.
The role combines strategic planning with hands-on oversight of daily operations, governance, and workforce development.
You will lead service improvement and engage with NHS stakeholders to support sustainable, patient-centred care.
Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and management of practice operations
- Support strategic planning, business development and priority implementation with GP Partners
- Lead and coordinate management and staff meetings; ensure actions are followed up
- Maintain clear communication and foster collaborative culture within the practice
- Represent the practice at external meetings and maintain relationships with NHS organisations and stakeholders
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, retention, performance management and workforce planning
- Ensure mandatory training and professional development
- Oversee governance, risk management, CQC compliance, complaints and patient feedback
- Manage financial planning, budgeting, reporting and service delivery targets
- Oversee premises, business continuity, health and safety, and relationships with external contractors
- Drive digital transformation and IT improvements; promote innovation and service redesign
- Support clinical governance, audits, quality improvement and service development initiatives
- Act as main contact for external stakeholders and stay aware of national/local primary care developments
- Fulfilling statutory and NHS reporting requirements and other duties as needed
