Overview
In this hybrid Consultant Paediatrician role, you will support both acute and community paediatrics across North West Wales within a collaborative team. You will bring a specialist interest in allergy and take a lead role in developing palliative care within acute children’s services. The post focuses on governance, education, and service development to improve paediatric care across local, regional, and national levels. You’ll engage with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to shape best practice and patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise doctors, including appraisal and development
- Maintain CME/CPD registration and personal development
- Provide expert advice to executive and clinical teams on service planning and delivery
- Participate in governance, audits, and research as appropriate
- Lead or support clinical governance processes and quality improvement
- Contribute to consultant appraisal and job planning
- Ensure protection of intellectual property of the Health Board
Key requirements
- Full GMC Specialist Registration in Paediatrics or within 6 months of CCT
- MRCPCH or equivalent
- Newborn Life Support provider course
- Advanced/European Paediatric Life Support provider course
- Valid Level 3 Safeguarding training
- Valid BLS Training
- Ability to undertake the role of Palliative Care Lead in Acute Children's Services
- Experience in multidisciplinary team work and clinical governance leadership
- Experience with child protection assessments and audits
- Undergraduate and postgraduate teaching experience
