In this role you will lead and develop Later Life Psychology Services within Wiltshire, delivering high-quality, evidence-based care for older adults. You will provide strategic and professional leadership while maintaining a specialist clinical caseload and supervising psychology staff. You will offer expert MDT consultation and guide service development to align with NHS plans. The role blends senior leadership with hands-on clinical work, research, and workforce development in a supportive, innovation-friendly environment.
Responsibilities
- Shape and lead delivery of high-quality psychological care for older adults
- Manage and supervise psychology staff and provide specialist supervision
- Maintain a highly specialist clinical caseload with complex neuropsychological assessment and intervention
- Lead service development initiatives aligned with NHS Long Term Plan and Community Mental Health Framework
- Drive service improvement, quality assurance, and clinical governance
- Lead and support research, service evaluation, and audit activities
- Contribute to workforce development through teaching and training of staff and trainees
- Provide expert consultation to multidisciplinary teams, service users, carers, and partner organisations
Key requirements
- Clinical Psychology qualification or doctoral equivalent and HCPC registration
- Advanced specialist qualification in neuropsychology
- Minimum 6 years post-qualification experience
- Experience in neuropsychological testing and psychometrics for older adults
- Extensive knowledge of assessment, formulation, and therapeutic interventions for the client group
- Supervision experience with Trainee Clinical Psychologists and others
- Experience in teaching/training psychologists and other professionals
- R&D and clinical audit experience
- Desirable: service development/project work
- Desirable: data analysis using spreadsheets and advanced data analysis tools
- Effective team player with strong communication
