b Overview /b p In this role, you will provide senior scientific and operational leadership for the Morphology EQA portfolio within UK NEQAS Haematology. You will deputise for the Haematology Service Manager and lead a team in morphology, parasitology, rapid diagnostic testing, haemosiderin and digital morphology. You will shape service development, collaborate with experts and suppliers, and ensure high-quality EQA data and reporting. This position offers a meaningful opportunity to impact laboratory medicine at national and international levels. /p b Pay / Benefits /b ul li flexible working options /li li staff wellbeing and development /li li opportunity to contribute to digital healthcare initiatives /li /ul b Responsibilities /b ul li Lead and coordinate the Morphology EQA service operations (morphology, parasitology, RDT, haemosiderin, digital morphology) /li li Deputise for the Haematology Service Manager and support wider service delivery /li li Line manage and develop EQA Scientists and support staff; provide specialist teaching in microscopy and morphology /li li Coordinate preparation, testing and distribution of survey material; verify participant data /li li Analyse EQA data and interpret performance; investigate complex queries and trends /li li Validate new techniques, methods, equipment and survey materials /li li Author/review SOPs and controlled documents; manage non-conformances and CAPA /li li Support service development, reporting/analytics, digital morphology, and IT validation /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li Degree or equivalent professional qualification /li li MSc, FIBMS Special in Haematology or equivalent /li li Current HCPC registration /li li Evidence of active CPD participation /li /ul ul li Staff management and supervision /li li Teaching and mentoring /li li Analytical thinking and problem solving /li li Specialist knowledge of blood film and bone marrow morphology /li li Parasitology and rapid diagnostic testing /li li Digital morphology and cytochemical staining /li /ul
