Overview
In this role you will oversee operational delivery across a Community or Inpatient Team within the Op Courage service footprint, ensuring safe, effective care across Devon and Cornwall. You will collaborate with local stakeholders and drive service planning, governance, and incident resolution. The role involves leading redesign initiatives, safeguarding staff involvement, and preparing contingency responses for unplanned events. It offers hybrid working with face-to-face and virtual elements, and requires occasional travel within the region.
Responsibilities
- Lead operational management of the assigned team to meet corporate and strategic objectives
- Ensure safe, effective services for service users across the nominated area
- Collaborate with manager on strategic thinking and Trust policies
- Liaise with service users, carers, staff and partners to align service provision
- Oversee Health and Safety duties and ensure compliance with policies
- Ensure staff compliance with clinical and governance processes, including incident reporting and complaints
- Manage line staff processes: rostering, recruitment, induction, appraisals, supervision, grievances
- Protect service users, carers, communities, and vulnerable adults through compliance
- Ensure compliance with Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and related laws
- Lead service redesign in line with national policies and evidence base
- Engage in service planning, governance, and network links (Third Sector, Commissioners, stakeholders, service user reps)
- Ensure culturally sensitive service delivery across diverse communities
- Lead identified projects within the Local Delivery Unit (LDU)
- Investigate serious untoward incidents, complaints, disciplinary matters as required
- Maintain effective communication with staff, unions, service users and carers
- Promote meaningful staff involvement to maximise ownership
- Contribute to contingency planning and out-of-hours responses for events such as pandemics and winter challenges

- Degree level education or equivalent knowledge/experience
