Overview

You will join the UHB+ focus within the People Directorate HR team to support Bank colleagues across the NHS Trust. In this role you drive employee relations, policy application and workforce solutions to maintain safe staffing and high-quality patient care. You’ll work with UHB+ leadership to improve staff engagement, governance and integration of Bank colleagues with the wider organisation. The pace is fast and the impact tangible, with opportunities for professional growth in a complex NHS setting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a diverse employee relations caseload and advise on workforce policies
  • Ensure timely, fair outcomes on staffing, service delivery and colleague experience issues
  • Support good governance and integration of Bank colleagues within the wider UHB family
  • Provide pragmatic, compassionate and objective HR solutions for colleagues and the organisation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and leadership to address workforce challenges
  • Develop and deliver people management guidance and policies
  • Prepare, analyse and present HR reports for decision-makers

Key requirements

  • Recent generalist HR experience in a large, complex organisation
  • Experience with complex HR investigations, absence and capability management
  • Experience in partnership with trade unions
  • Experience delivering people management training
  • Experience preparing, analysing and presenting HR reports
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Employment Law and HR best practice
  • Evidence of improving working practices
