We are committed to developing, training and retaining skills within our own teams, reducing reliance on external contractors and ensuring quality, value for money and long term sustainability.This role will appeal to experienced, qualified electricians who may not be driven purely by pay, but by purpose whether that is job security, trusted NHS benefits, a better work life balance, or the chance to give something back to the community they live in.Solihull Hospital offers a supportive, close knit working environment with the backing and security of the NHS.Main duties of the jobYou will undertake planned, reactive and emergency maintenance across a complex estate, ensuring electrical systems, plant and associated infrastructure are safe, compliant and fully operational.You will carry out inspection, testing, fault diagnosis, repair and commissioning of electrical installations and equipment in line with statutory legislation and Trust policies. Acting as a Competent Person, you will use approved isolation, permit to work and safe systems of work to ensure tasks are completed to a high standard.The role involves managing and prioritising workloads, responding to routine and urgent requests while minimising disruption to clinical services. You will provide day to day technical oversight and guidance to maintenance assistants, apprentices and contractors, ensuring quality, safety and professionalism.You will work both independently and as part of a wider multi trade team, contributing to service continuity through participation in the on call rota.
