The Associate Director of Finance, Contracting, Costing and Income, is responsible for leading and developing the Trust's work in relation to:
- NHS Commissioner Contracts;
- Delivering an effective service line reporting and costing function;
- Managing the Trust's contract income position;
- Deploying an effective overseas visitor's policy.
Main duties of the job include:
- Acting as a key member of the Trust's Senior Finance Team and shaping three fundamental areas of the Finance Department's offering to the wider organisation.
- Delivering an enhanced service line reporting capability, focused on measuring and benchmarking clinical productivity and unwarranted variation.
- Producing market assessment studies for clinical strategy development.
- Leading the analytical strand of the annual planning programme.
- Leading analytical activities for NHS Commissioning and Contracting purposes.
- Generating contract income information for financial management reporting purposes.
- Monitoring Clinical Group performance against ODP activity and income planning assumptions.
- Administering invoice and reconciliation activities associated with Contracted Commissioners, Overseas Visitors and NCA.
- Leading an effective Contracting Approach which promotes the Trust's business objectives and those of the wider Health Economy.
- Identifying and monitoring risks and issues, planning how to mitigate/respond to those risks and issues and implement the responses.
- Developing a proactive working relationship with Commissioning Colleagues to get business done.

Job responsibilities include:

Person Specification:
- Qualifications: Educated to degree level. CCAB qualified. Evidence of continued professional development with particular emphasis on NHS strategy and finance.
- Experience: Significant experience of NHS Commissioning and Contracting activities, displaying a strong track record of applying a risk mind-set and managing complexity when making decisions.
- Knowledge: An in-depth understanding of the NHS Standard Acute Contract, the NHS Payment System, and NHS Costing Standards.
- Skills: Analyses risks and margins of error to make effective decisions on contract risk management strategies. Manages trade-offs and takes calculated risks to achieve organisational objectives.
