Overview

You will provide high‑quality dermatopathology services within cellular pathology, leading and supporting the clinical team. You will share service delivery across East Kent on a fortnightly rota, with MDT input and teaching responsibilities. The role contributes to transformation initiatives and digital pathology rollout, aligning with the Trust’s improvement agenda. This position offers impact through clinical leadership, service development, and cross-site collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a first-class dermatopathology service within the cellular pathology department
  • Provide effective leadership to staff and support service delivery
  • Engage in clinical practice to high ethical standards and support for other clinical specialties
  • Contribute to education and postgraduate teaching
  • Share service provision across East Kent on a fortnightly rota with MDT cover via videoconferencing
  • Support and participate in continuous service improvement and governance initiatives
  • Participate in the evolution of digital pathology reporting and STP-related projects

Key requirements

  • Full GMC Registration
  • Specialist interest in dermatopathology
  • Specialist Registration (or within 6 months of achieving)
  • UK professional registration and safeguarding for NHS practice
  • Experience working as a dermatopathologist in an NHS Trust at registrar level or above (Desirable)
