This is a full time 10PA position where you will join a newly established North East Oxfordshire AMHT (Based in Bicester) serving adults of working age in the town of Bicester and surrounding areas of Kidlington, Islip, Woodstock and Yarnton. This substantive consultant post has become available following a reorganisation of service and offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development of the team.
You'll provide senior clinical leadership, shape local pathways and contribute to service development across the interface between secondary care, primary care and community partners.
This is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact to mental health care and patient recovery outcomes. We're looking for applicants who have full GMC registration and are on the Specialist Register or within six months of CCT. You'll need to be eligible for Section 12 Approval/Approved Clinician status or willing to apply for this once in post.

Main duties of the jobProvide senior medical input and clinical leadership to the team. Medical responsibility for patients usually remains with the GP, except where a medical member of the team takes a patient on for continuing treatment. You will have responsibility for those patients seen by you, as well as those patients seen by medical staff under your supervision.
Undertake MHA assessments and undertake RC responsibility for patients as required. Responsibility for those patients seen by yourself, together with those patients seen by medical staff directly supervised by youWork alongside the whole AMHT team managers, service manager and the other consultant psychiatrists in the service to ensure the effective functioning and development of the service.
Provide direct clinical supervision and line management to the trainees and speciality doctor and any senior trainee placed with the teamProvide direct clinical care and ensure medical involvement in the CPA process and weekly multidisciplinary ward rounds. Family meetings, professionals' meetings, further ad hoc patient reviews and seclusion reviews are expected as part of this role. The consultant will be expected to adhere to good clinical practice based on research evidence.
Contribute to referral management with the team manager and leadership team. The post holder will jointly review care plans with care coordinators and attend daily FACT meetings.
