b Overview /b p In this role you will provide an accurate, timely clinical coding service, translating complex medical terminology into national classification codes to support patient care, governance, planning, and the Trust’s financial stability. You will operate within the Clinical Coding Department at Kings Mill Hospital, contributing to data used by national bodies and external partners. You will work closely with clinical staff and trainees to maintain high coding standards and data quality. This is a key role for shaping clinical information and improving service delivery within an award-winning NHS Foundation Trust. /p b Responsibilities /b ul li Accurately code medical records using ICD10, OPCS4 and HRG4 /li li Ensure timely delivery of coded data to support governance and planning /li li Deliver training to clinical coding staff and medical staff /li li Support trainee clinical-coding staff and provide mentorship /li li Maintain extensive experience with PAS/hospital systems /li li Adhere to National clinical coding standards, Information Governance Toolkit, and quality standards /li li Engage in continuous professional development through refresher and specialty workshops /li li Communicate findings and data insights effectively to stakeholders /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li Accredited clinical coding qualification /li li Ability to code a minimum of 6 specialty areas /li li Experience with PAS/hospital systems /li li Knowledge of ICD10, OPCS4 and HRG4 /li li Familiarity with Information Governance Toolkit standards /li li Excellent presentation, communication, and report-writing skills /li li Strong IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) /li li Numeracy and literacy proficiency /li li Degree level qualification or significant proven clinical coding qualification /li li Ability to train and support trainee staff /li /ul ul li Excellent presentation skills /li li Ability to communicate at all levels /li li Collaborative working relationships across professional and cultural boundaries /li li ICD10 /li li OPCS4 /li li HRG4 /li /ul
