Overview
In this role you help lead the Older Adult Community Mental Health Team, guiding staff and contributing to service development. You will balance line management with direct patient contact, supporting senior leadership to maintain high standards of care. The position sits in a collaborative MDT and offers opportunities to grow managerial skills while maintaining hands-on clinical involvement. Your work will shape care for older adults across a wide community area, aligning with our mission of outstanding care delivered by an outstanding team.

Responsibilities
- Provide line management and supervision to experienced clinicians
- Support the Team Manager with service development and training opportunities
- Manage a complex caseload while maintaining patient contact and leadership by example
- Foster a caring, patient-centred approach and uphold high standards of care
- Engage in multidisciplinary collaboration and supervision for staff well-being
- Contribute to clinical governance and risk management within the team
Key requirements
- Relevant Professional Qualification (RMN or Occupational Therapist)
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) portfolio
- Experience of older people and complex care in the community (generic and mental health)
- Experience of supervising and managing staff
- Experience of leadership and multidisciplinary working
- Formal and informal teaching including supervising student placements
- Advanced knowledge of mental health and the Mental Health Act
- Advanced understanding of clinical risk assessment and management
- Understanding of Clinical Governance
- Caring and committed attitude
- Strong leadership and supervision skills
- Effective communication and collaboration
- Specialist knowledge in community mental health
- Awareness of national/local issues affecting older people
