As a Senior Surveyor at National Grid, you'll secure the land rights and agreements needed to deliver major electricity infrastructure projects, including The Great Grid Upgrade, helping connect homes and businesses to cleaner, more affordable energy.

What you'll be doing

• Lead land acquisition, land rights and compensation activities across a portfolio of nationally significant infrastructure projects.
• Manage complex negotiations with landowners, occupiers and their advisers, securing agreements that enable successful delivery.
• Provide expert advice on land rights, land acquisition and statutory processes, helping shape key project decisions.
• Build trusted relationships with landowners, communities, project stakeholders and delivery partners.
• Identify and resolve complex land and stakeholder issues, developing practical solutions that enable project delivery.
• Lead and influence delivery across a network of external land agents, consultants and project partners, while coaching and developing colleagues across the wider lands team.

What you'll bring

You'll be an experienced Surveyor with expertise in land acquisition, land rights or infrastructure delivery. Whether your background is in consultancy, utilities or major projects, you'll bring the commercial awareness, professional judgement and delivery focus needed to help progress complex infrastructure projects.

• Strong experience securing land access, negotiating agreements and resolving compensation matters.
• Extensive expertise in DCO, CPO and wider statutory consenting processes, with proven experience supporting the delivery of major linear infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to secure positive outcomes in complex and challenging environments.
• Strong commercial awareness, sound professional judgement and a pragmatic approach to problem solving.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build credibility and influence decisions.
• Experience working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams, including legal, engineering, planning and consenting functions.
• Degree qualified (or equivalent) and ideally AssocRICS, MRICS or working towards professional accreditation.

• A competitive salary between £55,000 - £67,000 – dependent on capability.
• Market supplement of £3,000 per annum.
