Senior Lawyer – Inhouse Counsel

What you'll be doing
- Providing regulatory legal advice on NGET's licence obligations, regulatory framework and emerging regulatory developments.
- Advising the business on regulatory risk, compliance, policy changes and their commercial implications.
- Supporting engagement with key external stakeholders, including Ofgem, Government departments and external legal advisers.
- Advising on regulatory submissions, investigations, disputes, appeals and customer connections matters, and preparing briefings and recommendations for senior stakeholders, including Board-level audiences.
- Developing legal capability across the business through training, knowledge sharing and coaching of colleagues.

About you
- Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with experience in regulatory and/or competition law gained in private practice or an in‑house environment.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, deliver complex projects and work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Confident using AI and digital tools to drive efficiency, with typically 4+ years' PQE (although candidates with equivalent experience are encouraged to apply).
