This role is designated as hybrid, with an expectation of one or two days per month in the Warwick, UK office. Requirements may vary based on business needs and company policy.
About the Role
- To establish, define and implement the Data Science & Advanced Analytics requirements for the whole of ET in order to deliver the value from RIIO T2 by making the optimal decisions to ensure efficient and cost effective performance.
- To support the exploration of potential business solutions, enabling ET to exploit opportunities to drive efficiency and effectiveness of the business model to deliver our outcomes.
- To lead the development of prototype solutions and the development of commercially viable business cases.
- To build ET's Advanced Analytics capabilities, providing the business experts throughout ET with the technology and expertise to unlock & exploit the information they hold at the point of work.
What You'll Do
- In partnership with Business SME's from across the breadth of ET, lead the establishment and definition of the future Data Science requirements necessary for ET to drive performance through the RIIO period in respect of process, performance efficiency and value for money.
- In partnership with the ET business, raise awareness of the analytics capabilities throughout the whole of ET to ensure the business has the tools and knowledge to make the best decisions at the point of work.
- Conduct projects using Data Science and Advanced Analytics to answer key business questions to drive performance.
- Perform exploratory analysis and create proofs-of-concept to test the feasibility of applying different Data Science solutions to particular business problems.
- Lead the development, testing and deployment of Data Science tools into the Data Science team and throughout the whole of ET.
- Liaise with other teams in BIO, IT and external providers to build an understanding of how best to deliver the future Data Science and Advanced Analytics capabilities that National Grid and ET require to deliver value under RIIO.
- Take a lead role in the proactive identification of ET's data and information requirements identified as part of the requirements gathering for ET's analytical capabilities.
About You
- Significant knowledge of advanced business insight & Data Science techniques.
- Knowledge of programming languages e.g. Python, R, SQL etc.
- Significant experience in an analytical environment utilising Data Science and Advanced Analytics tools to make recommendations for key business decisions.
- Experience of project management frameworks and their delivery, preferably Agile methodologies.
- Demonstrated commerciality, stakeholder management and professionalism, working in a fluid and fast paced environment.
