Overview
In this role you help shape SCADA, substation automation, protection and control technologies to keep the network safe, secure and resilient. Based in multiple UK offices with hybrid working, you’ll influence asset strategies and future roadmaps within the Lifecycle team. You’ll work on modernising SCADA/digital substations and integrate OT cyber requirements, collaborating with internal teams, suppliers and partners. This is a people-focused technical role that drives technology choices and lifecycle decisions at scale.

Responsibilities
- Support lifecycle management of substation control and OT cyber assets
- Contribute to SCADA, digital substation and network modernisation initiatives
- Develop and maintain engineering standards, specifications and guidance
- Engage with internal stakeholders, suppliers and industry partners to evaluate new technologies
- Support technical assurance and Type Registration for asset types
- Contribute to asset strategies and technology roadmaps
- Analyse asset performance, risk and lifecycle information to inform investment decisions
- Support delivery of cyber security requirements within OT environments
- Provide technical advice to engineering, project and operations teams
- Build relationships across the business and share knowledge
Key requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Control Systems or related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
- Experience in electricity transmission, distribution or critical infrastructure environments
- Membership of or willingness to pursue membership in a relevant professional institution
- Experience in Protection and Control Engineering and/or SCADA/substation automation or OT environments
- Understanding of engineering asset management and lifecycle principles
- Strong analytical and evidence-based decision-making abilities
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
