Responsible Business Manager β 12 Month Maternity Cover x 2

As a Responsible Business Manager, you\βll look to increase the understanding of Responsible Business through transparency and efficient management of our internal and external reporting. You\βll build operational excellence through performance management, always putting customers and stakeholders at the heart of decision making and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure best practice.

What you\\\βll be getting up to
Role 1
- Support Group Finance, the Climate Transition Manager, Investor Relations and the Group Senior Responsible Business Manager in the delivery of external ESG disclosures.
- Support Investor Relations by responding to queries and questions on environmental sustainability from equity investors.
- Own the delivery of a sustainability communications programme, setting strategic scope and priority audiences, coordinating cross functional stakeholders, and developing content and governance processes.
- Support the delivery of the annual Responsible Business Report, aligning stakeholder inputs, ESG data, and narrative to ensure accurate, coherent end of year reporting.
- Lead Responsible Business BMS tracking and reporting, providing guidance to business units on the development and implementation of action plans to achieve full compliance.
- Lead on the development of material and provision of data for set-piece external ESG events and presentations.
- Lead the review and optimisation of sustainability related memberships, ensuring alignment with ESG and climate priorities, and effective use of organisational resources.
Role 2
- Develop, maintain and deliver National Grid\\\βs Responsible Business strategy through our Responsible Business Charter
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders to share best practice and engage in sustainability opportunities, including memberships, responding to external audits, ensuring attendance at key events.
- Support horizon scanning to provide industry trends and best practice through the Centre of Excellence.
- Deliver the Responsible Business annual reporting within the Annual Report and Accounts and manage the completion of associated reporting and disclosures through the year
- Oversee and support maximising the digital communication of National Grid\\\βs Responsible Business story from across the Group
- Support engagement with external advisory groups supporting the company\\\βs work on Responsible Business
- Oversee well managed sustainability governance
- Contribute to coordinated approach with internal to ensure National Grid\\\βs Responsible Business work is understood and recognised by key stakeholders, in particular the Responsible Business leads in each Business Unit, Investor Relations, Strategy and Corporate Affairs and other parts of the General Counsel team
What\\\βs in it for you?
A competitive salary between Β£58,000 β Β£69,000 per annum β dependent on capability.
As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus of up to 30% of your salary for stretch performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.

About you
- Experience of working with and leading cross-functional teams to successfully deliver business objectives.
- Thorough knowledge of environmental legislation, National Grid policy, procedure and best practice in relation to environment and sustainability.
- Knowledge and technical understanding of environmental reporting, particularly sustainability related-disclosures e.g. CDP and CA100+.
- A broad appreciation and understanding of National Grid\\\βs business operations.
- Experience of working with senior leadership and Executive teams.
