You will act as the regulatory lead for your assigned projects, taking clear ownership of regulatory delivery from development through to determination. While you will personally lead on outcomes, you'll be supported by specialist colleagues across SI and the National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET) Regulation teams for critical activities. We are currently hiring for three Regulation Partners—two permanent positions and one on a 6‑month fixed‑term contract basis. These roles are primarily based in Warwick, with occasional travel to other UK sites. We offer hybrid working and are open to discussing flexible working arrangements to support your needs.

What You'll Do

Your success in this role will be measured through the quality of regulatory outcomes delivered and the strength of relationships built with project teams and stakeholders. Key responsibilities include:

  • Deliver successful regulatory outcomes
  • Produce high‑quality, credible regulatory submissions and recommendations
  • Build regulator confidence and support timely, sufficient funding decisions
  • Contribute to successful delivery of individual projects and, where relevant, the wider portfolio

Own and manage regulatory risk

  • Take clear ownership of regulatory risk across assigned projects
  • Proactively identify and mitigate issues, anticipating challenges early
  • Coordinate resolution across disciplines to protect delivery and ensure compliance with statutory obligations and licence requirements

Enable regulatory capability through strong relationships

  • Build trusted, effective relationships with multi‑disciplinary project teams
  • Mobilise the right expertise to inform regulatory positions and strengthen evidence
  • Act as a key regulatory partner, supporting sound, well‑aligned decision‑making

Provide trusted regulatory leadership

  • Offer clear, timely and well‑reasoned regulatory advice to Project Managers and Sponsors
  • Lead day‑to‑day regulatory engagement with internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate inputs, draft responses and manage regulatory evidence on behalf of projects

About You

You are an experienced regulatory professional who thrives in complex, fast‑paced environments and enjoys partnering closely with delivery teams to achieve strong outcomes. You'll bring:

  • Regulatory Delivery
    • Demonstrable experience leading regulatory aspects of projects or workstreams within a UK regulated environment.
    • Ability to act as regulatory lead, setting approach, sequencing activity and driving progress to deadlines.
    • Experience coordinating multi‑disciplinary inputs across commercial, technical and delivery teams.
    • A role‑model approach to regulatory partnering, showing accountability, professionalism and collaboration.
    • Proven ability to identify, own and manage regulatory risks, spotting emerging issues early.

    • Strong leadership through influence, enabling confident decision‑making.
    • Sound professional judgement when interpreting and applying regulatory frameworks.
    • Comfort operating with ambiguity, escalating issues appropriately while proposing solutions.
    • Experience managing day‑to‑day engagement with stakeholders and regulators.
    • Strong communication skills, able to explain complex regulatory matters clearly to different audiences.
  • Delivery Discipline and Personal Effectiveness
    • Highly organised and resilient, able to manage multiple regulatory workstreams in parallel.
    • Strong attention to detail while maintaining focus on the bigger picture.
    • Proactive, self‑starting mindset with clear ownership of outcomes, not just tasks.

What You'll Get

A competitive salary — £64,000 – £80,000 per annum based on experience. As well as your base salary, a bonus of up to 30% of your salary for stretch performance, and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
