Location: Office base for the position is Warwick, but this is a Hybrid team/position so candidates can be based London, Bristol or areas with good access to travel to Warwick on a semi-regular basis.
Join the legal team powering the UK’s energy future! We’re looking for a talented and ambitious Junior Solicitor to help shape the legal landscape of one of the UK’s most vital industries. This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of the energy transition - tackling complex, high-impact issues that keep the lights on and support a greener future.
What you’ll do:
- Advise on a wide range of public law and regulatory matters affecting our business.
- Support projects and initiatives, including: legislation, licence and industry code changes; consultations; infrastructure and strategic projects development; regulatory compliance; data protection and information requests; competition law; and litigation.
- Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure National Grid continues to operate with integrity, accountability, and innovation.
- Legal Advice: Advising executives and management on legal risks, corporate governance, and compliance issues.
- Contract Management: Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and agreements.
- Compliance: Ensuring the company complies with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Risk Management: Identifying and managing legal risks and implementing strategies to mitigate them.
What you’ll get:
Salary c£48,000 p.a. to £58,000 p.a. depending on experience. As well as your base salary you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%. You will also have access to a number of flexible benefits such as a share incentive plan, salary sacrifice car and technology schemes, support via employee assistance lines and matched charity giving to name a few.
About you:
A qualified Solicitor (or Barrister) in England and Wales with experience of working in industry. Experience advising on public law issues - energy experience is a bonus, but not essential. A keen interest in the energy sector. Whether your experience is from private practice, in-house, or the public sector, if you’re eager to learn and ready to make an impact, we’d love to hear from you.
