Overview
As Director of Capital & Investment for Strategic Infrastructure, you steer financial planning, forecasting and reporting for the SI delivery vehicle. You lead a large, distributed team and serve as the primary link to senior finance and business stakeholders on processes and outputs. Your role drives financial control, challenge, and continuous improvement to support decision-making and regulatory submissions. You will influence the finance leadership agenda and help deliver the energy transition through robust capital accounting and reporting.

Responsibilities
- Own and oversee SI processes to ensure accuracy and quality of outputs and reporting
- Provide financial leadership and challenge across the SI Investment Accounting team
- Act as primary finance liaison for senior stakeholders regarding process, output and delivery
- Produce accurate forecasts across projects and capital accounting
- Deliver insightful commentary to Controllers, FP&A, UKFC and other leaders
- Drive process improvements and challenge the status quo to boost efficiency
- Ensure timely, high-quality reporting for decision-making
- Collaborate with finance leadership to align priorities and outputs
- Build, manage and develop a high-performing team with succession planning
- Support change initiatives, model new ways of working and deliver key outcomes for long-term capability
- Deliver timely inputs to regulatory reporting packs by coordinating with Regulation and RIIO teams
- Define and implement appropriate financial controls
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and doing the right thing
Key requirements
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with post-qualified senior experience
- Experience in reporting, planning, forecasting and budgeting across projects
- Stakeholder management across multiple teams to enable commercial decisions
- Comfort with leading in a virtual team and occasional site travel
- Experience in Record to Report/Business Services and understanding data flows
- Strong system experience (e.g., SAP)
- Good understanding of core financial processes
- Proactive, self-starter with workload and quality management
- Pragmatic, adaptable to change and capable of tailoring approaches to customer groups
