Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain Risk, the Category Risk & Insight Manager is a high impact leadership role and trusted advisor to Procurement and the wider business. You'll turn complex data, market intelligence and risk insight into clear, decision ready narratives that shape category strategy, influence investment decisions and inform senior leaders up to board level.

With responsibility spanning all categories across Direct, Indirect and BU procurement projects, you'll embed risk, market dynamics and real world supply chain insight into strategy, and supplier engagement. Combining risk leadership, analytics and strong stakeholder influence, you'll use clear, visual, PowerPoint led storytelling to frame choices, highlight trade offs and drive confident decision making.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead supply chain risk analysis and scenario testing across priority categories.
  • Translate complex risk, market and supply chain data into clear heatmaps, mitigations and decision ready insight for category leads and business stakeholders to make informed decisions.
  • Monitor supply chain risks with the use of technology to proactively anticipate and mitigate n tier supply disruption.
  • Proactively identify and elevate emerging risks with evidence based recommendations that shape strategy and investment choices.
  • Provide a forward looking view of commodity markets, equipment supply chains and demand and supply capacity insights to influence category strategy and negotiations.
  • Leverage AI enabled tools to detect emerging risks, identify patterns and accelerate analysis across suppliers, regions and commodities.
  • Exercise judgement on supply chain risk factors to instigate category intelligence for risk mitigation and opportunity.
  • Partner across Procurement, Commercial, Finance, Engineering and Legal to support Category Management, sourcing events, negotiations and supply disruption response.

What You'll Have:

  • Significant experience in strategic procurement, category management or supply chain risk (c. 5+ years), operating at senior specialist or manager level.
  • Strong analytical capability gained within utilities, infrastructure, engineering or construction environments.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, with the ability to create clear, compelling, leadership ready materials (Power BI desirable).
  • A proven track record of translating complex data and market insight into confident, actionable recommendations for senior audiences.
  • The credibility and influence to operate effectively in a matrix environment, partnering with senior stakeholders across US and UK teams.
  • Hands on experience with Third Party Risk and market intelligence tools.
  • Practical exposure to AI enabled tools in procurement or risk, including risk monitoring, market intelligence or advanced analytics and reporting.

What You'll Get:

Circa £65,000 - dependent on experience. As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance with on target being 15% (with a maximum of 30%) and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
