Job Purpose:

To proactively assist in the planning, management and organisation of the training requirements and competency of the present and future workforce across Asset Operations (AO) to ensure National Grid ET successfully and efficiently deliver against our regulatory outputs throughout RIIO2 and beyond.

What you'll do:

  • Act as the central interface for the Asset Operations (AO) team, ensuring that all training requirements for employees, trainees, and agency resources are effectively managed, scheduled, and planned in alignment with delivery plans and legislative requirements.
  • Assist in gathering and validating base data for each job role across various skill categories, including Business Skills, Technical/Safety Skills, Leadership Skills, and Specialist Skills.
  • Support the ongoing planning, organisation, coordination, and scheduling of all direct hire new starter intakes, as well as technical, safety, business, and leadership training requirements, in collaboration with our internal Global Technical Training Centre of Excellence and external suppliers.
  • Create and analyse monthly training management information (MI) reports, ensuring that training records are accurately aligned for the Certificate of Assurance.
  • Lead the data capture and validation process to maintain accurate training records within National Grid’s preferred central systems.
  • Interface with the Global Technical Training Team, both onshore and offshore, to manage all training requirements, schedule courses, and provide technical assistance as needed.
  • Ensure that all new recruits, including National Grid and agency personnel, are enrolled in mandatory training relevant to their roles.

About you:

  • Ability to quickly learn and understand the structure and activities of the Energy Transmission (ET) directorate and its associated business issues.
  • Willingness to gain knowledge of training needs and requirements within Asset Operations (AO).
  • Proven experience in managing stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Proficient in office software, with strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in using and administering Office 365 applications.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Initiative to identify issues and propose potential solutions.
  • Basic skills in management reporting and presentation.

What you'll get:

A competitive salary circa £36,000 – dependent on capability. As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
