Electricity Distribution – Network Planner
We are currently recruiting for a Network Planner to join us at our Telford depot. This will be for a period of up to 12 months (subject to review). Planners design our network and work with our Engineers to construct, reinforce, alter, and replace our equipment. As you can imagine, the pace is fast, and if you join us, our customers will trust you to provide excellent service and minimise any impact. To apply you’ll need English and Maths GCSE at Grade C/Level 4 minimum OR Functional Skills Level 2 or above. We’ll need to see evidence of your qualifications. Evidence of your qualifications will be required prior to appointment. As part of our hybrid working approach this role offers a mix of office and home working. Hybrid working can only be considered once your initial training is complete and subject to business need. Depending on experience, you may initially be appointed at a lower salary until all relevant courses and training are complete.

Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver new services/alterations/small capital projects.
- Carry out onsite meetings.
- Work with wayleaves/estates specialist to obtain 3rd‑party agreements for NGED assets.
- Financially review and close projects.
- Communicate with customers effectively to manage expectations and resolve queries.
- Schedule contracted works.
- Communicate with local authorities and external stakeholders.
Ideal Candidate
We need you to understand our customers and their needs; strong communication skills are key, so you can solve their problems and explain issues simply and clearly. You will need to be resilient, organised and able to prioritise your workload. Team players thrive in this role, and experience using iPads and computers is a must. You will need to be mobile throughout the area as you may be required to undertake standby duties, therefore a full UK driving licence is essential for the role.
Qualifications & Training
Recruitment process may require a Level 2 City & Guilds 2339 qualification and completion of TAR, which includes daily diary completion and a number of tasks and reports as required. This role is subject to a satisfactory Barring Service (DBS) check. Some roles require a triannual check.
