Our Technical Training team is looking for two Training Planners to join us at either our Taunton or Tipton Training Centre. In this role you’ll support the planning and delivery of training across National Grid’s business. Working in a fast-paced environment, you’ll play a key role in ensuring training activities are organised, accurate and delivered to a high standard. You will report to a Technical Training Planning Manager and we’re looking for someone with strong organisational skills, attention to detail and confidence using IT systems. This role offers a blend of office and home working with approximately 3 days in the office and the remainder from home.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Training Planners and key stakeholders across the business
  • Deliver KPIs and performance targets accurately and to agreed deadlines
  • Manage internal and external course bookings and administration, including booking training requirements, scheduling and updating training programmes with course dates (including internal trainers and booking external training providers), booking training rooms, creating and issuing course joining instructions
  • Ensure the Learning Management system is updated accurately
  • Utilise financial systems to process supplier and maintain accurate financial records
  • Provide reception support when needed
  • Deliver excellent customer service across all communication channels

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Confident using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, with advanced Excel skills desirable
  • Ideally has previous experience in a training support or planning role
  • Has experience working with learning management systems (e.g. SAP, Success Factors or Crown)
  • Is passionate about delivering excellent customer service
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with colleagues, internal stakeholders and external customers
  • Can work collaboratively as part of a team, whilst also being self‑motivated and able to work independently
  • Has strong organisational skills, a high level of attention to detail and uses initiative effectively
  • Adopts a flexible and proactive approach to assist the Technical Training Planning Manager and colleagues with training activities
