About The Role

We are seeking a knowledgeable individual to join our dynamic training team at our Tipton Training Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to lead engaging training courses and make a real impact in the field of electricity distribution!

You will report to the Technical Training Delivery Manager and take the lead in delivering high-quality Fitting training courses. Your responsibilities will extend beyond teaching; you will collaborate on the design and development of innovative training programmes that incorporate interactive blended learning solutions.

What You\'ll Do

  • Deliver engaging training in both classroom and workshop environments.
  • Utilize your experience to design and develop technical and safety training that meets customer requirements.
  • Support the maintenance of training products, ensuring compliance with internal quality assurance processes.
  • Collaborate with technical experts and relevant departments to ensure training meets necessary standards.
  • Stay updated on the latest technical and safety bulletins to enhance safety training.
  • Review lesson plans and presentations to ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Conduct observations to identify areas for improvement and implement enhancements.
  • Maintain training centre facilities and equipment, ensuring everything is in top condition.
  • Conduct safety walks for areas of responsibility.
  • Assess individuals performing practical activities to ensure they meet qualification standards.
  • Work with the Design and Innovation Team to drive improvements and develop new training products.
  • Uphold Health & Safety and Safeguarding responsibilities for learners.
  • Complete accurate course reports and assessments documentation.

About You

  • Recognised Level 3 Engineering Advanced Apprenticeship or equivalent Electrical Engineering Qualification (ONC/HNC).
  • Extensive experience in maintaining Distribution plant and equipment, Power network or Substations.
  • Strong understanding of Distribution Safety Rules and associated policies.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and planning skills.
  • Proficient IT skills, particularly in Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Experience in managing teams or work activities is desirable.
  • Previous training experience or knowledge of coaching others is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Safeguarding or working with young adults is desirable, but training will be provided.
  • NEBOSH certificate/diploma or equivalent safety qualifications is advantageous.

This role is offered on a permanent basis and is based in Tipton, West Midlands, with some travel required.
