Grain LNG is Europe's largest liquefied natural gas importation terminal by storage capacity, located on the Isle of Grain in Kent. The terminal plays a critical role in supporting the UK's energy security by providing substantial regasification, storage, and send out capability which is sufficient to supply 25-30% of Great Britain's gas demand. As an expanding critical energy asset positioned for the future energy transition, Grain LNG continues to evolve, enhancing operational resilience, embracing new technologies, and shaping its role as a key enabler of the UK's Net Zero ambitions.

We are currently recruiting for a HR and Payroll Coordinator to join our commercial function. The HR Coordinator/Payroll Administrator will work closely with the HR team to deliver a first-class HR service to the Grain LNG business. This will include the full end to end employee experience from recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, learning & development administration, time & attendance recording and monitoring, and payroll administration. The role is a hybrid role based on site at the Isle of Grain and you can enjoy working from the office 2 days a week as well as from home. We are open to full time applications and also happy to consider flexible working options too.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide HR service to Grain LNG management team, collaborate with the HR team and 3rd party providers to deliver a high-quality HR service covering the full employee lifecycle.
  • Co-ordinate training courses: support the HR team in identifying training needs and co-ordinating training courses, including booking resources, preparing materials, sending invites and collating feedback.
  • Support recruitment and induction: Assist the HR team in the recruitment of roles and onboarding process.
  • Maintain and ensure accurate up to date digital personal files within the HR System.
  • Conduct exit interview process as required and provide feedback and KPI’s to the HR team.
  • First line employee and manager advise on policies and procedures: The HR Coordinator will develop a sound understanding of UK employment law and Grain LNG policies and advise line managers and employees on their application.
  • Exposure to case management including note taking.
  • Manage and administer Long Service awards, Recognition, Retirement and Employee Awards.
  • Time & Attendance management.
  • Administering HR SharePoint intranet and communications.
  • Support HR team on various HR projects.
  • Payroll Administration.

What you’ll need:

  • Previous experience in HR administration/coordination is essential.
  • Highly organised with sharp attention to detail.
  • Excellent communicator - both written and verbal.
  • Confident working independently and managing multiple priorities.
  • A team player with a proactive mindset.
  • Ability to build credible relationships across all stakeholder groups.
  • Comfortable handling sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Agility and flexibility to be involved in all HR tasks.
  • Excellent IT skills including Excel and HRIS platforms.

What you’ll get:

A competitive salary between £33,000- £35,000 per annum - dependent on capability. As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%. You will also have access to a number of flexible benefits.
