Job Purpose
As Governance and Change Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of Net Zero ambitions by enabling Asset Operations capital projects to be delivered safely and effectively to time, cost, quality and performance expectations.
Reporting to the Head of PMO, you will help drive robust governance, controls and best practice across cost, risk, schedule and change. Using data and performance insights, you will identify trends, draw meaningful conclusions and provide recommendations that support informed decision-making and optimise portfolio delivery across a complex portfolio of capital projects.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a developing PMO function, helping to strengthen governance and assurance processes, improve ways of working, and ensure projects remain aligned with technical, regulatory and business requirements across a complex and high-value portfolio.
What you'll do
- Support the application of PMO governance, following the PMO roadmap and organisational standards, ensuring effective portfolio oversight and control.
- Monitor and report on cost, risk, schedule and change data, ensuring projects remain controlled, governed and performing against agreed baselines.
- Produce and maintain metrics, dashboards and change data.
- Translating complex data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for PMO leads.
- Support cost management activities, including forecasting, budget tracking and cost governance, working closely with Finance and delivery teams to ensure financial control and transparency.
- Analyse integrated planning and scheduling, ensuring delivery plans are credible, aligned and accurately reflect key dependencies, risks and delivery priorities.
- Operate the risk, issue and change management processes, facilitating risk reviews, assuring the quality of portfolio risk data, and ensuring all changes are appropriately assessed, governed and implemented across cost, schedule and risk.
- Work alongside a team of PMO analysts, including offshore resources, and stakeholders across Asset Operations, delivery teams and wider business functions; support regulatory and performance reporting requirements and drive continuous improvement in PMO processes, tools and ways of working.
About you
- Experience within PMO, portfolio or project controls in complex delivery environments, ideally supporting capital projects, programmes or portfolios, with a strong understanding of governance across cost, risk, schedule and change, ensuring consistent standards and controls are embedded.
- Highly analytical, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends and provide clear, actionable insights to support decision-making and performance improvement.
- Knowledge of risk management practices, including facilitating workshops and supporting both quantitative risk analysis and schedule risk analysis.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively, drive change and manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
- Organised, proactive and comfortable managing multiple priorities in fast-paced environments, with a continuous improvement mindset and the drive to help shape and evolve a developing PMO function.
- Experience of project lifecycle governance, assurance or change control processes within utilities, infrastructure, engineering, construction, manufacturing or other capital-intensive environments would be highly advantageous.
Particularly Interested In:
We would be especially interested in hearing from candidates who have experience within:
- PMO, Governance, Project Controls or Portfolio Management Office environments.
- Capital project or programme delivery within utilities, infrastructure, engineering, construction or manufacturing sectors.
- Governance, assurance, risk, change or project control processes that support successful project delivery.
