The predicted salary is between 45492 - 49369 £ per year.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring your team's adherence to Health and Safety regulations.

  • Ensure our people have the appropriate training and work authorisations to support a safe and productive working environment.

The Ideal Candidate: We are looking for an individual with experience of working within a utilities or similar operational environment, who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, reactive and often pressurised setting. The successful candidate will ideally have experience within a safety-critical and/or regulated industry and be able to demonstrate sound judgement, effective prioritisation and independent decision-making when managing changing operational demands. The role requires a proven people leader who can:

  • Lead, motivate and develop a team to deliver safe and effective operational performance.
  • Prioritise workloads and manage competing demands in a reactive environment.
  • Make informed decisions independently and take ownership of outcomes.
  • Manage performance and support the development of individuals within their team.
  • Act as a point of escalation for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build strong working relationships with craft colleagues, operational teams, contractors and customers.
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with a wide range of audiences.
  • Identify problems, develop practical solutions and plan ahead using their own initiative.
  • Demonstrate strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Use IT systems effectively to manage workloads, resources and performance.
  • Commercial and financial awareness would be advantageous.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Electricity Safety.
  • Health & Safety Legislation.
  • Quality and Continuity Regulations 2002 (ESQCR).
  • Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.
  • Electricity distribution operations.
  • Craft roles and activities undertaken within a distribution business.
  • New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) legislation.
  • A NRSWA qualification or understanding of NRSWA legislation is desirable; however, full training can be provided.
  • You must hold a full, valid UK/EU driving licence as you will be required to carry out site visits.

Selection Process: We are looking to hold a two-stage selection process for this role. Stage 1 will consist of a competency-based interview, and these are currently scheduled to take place between 9 and 11 September. Stage 2 will consist of a role-based assessment and second interview. Candidates who progress to Stage 2 will be advised of assessment dates following completion of the first stage.
