National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED) is recruiting an Operations Manager - Plant Centre based at our depot in Huthwaite. This hands-on, operational role requires leadership of a multi-skilled team and end-to-end oversight of the plant building process to support Field Operations installs across replacement, network faults, customer connections and network reinforcement. The role emphasizes safety, customer service, collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders, and continuous improvement in a fast-moving energy environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead a large multi-skilled team with approximately 20 direct and indirect reports.
- Order, construct and deliver all mass plant assets to service Field Operations reactive and planned activities.
- Deliver key performance indicators to underpin business success.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to build and deliver a work programme for each financial year.
- Ensure safe and efficient delivery of plant building processes in a hands-on, operational setting, engaging with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain a culture of safety, health, environment and wellbeing for the team.
Qualifications
- Qualification: IOSH or equivalent safety qualification, or willingness to commence within 12 months of appointment.
- Experience in the Energy or Utility sectors desirable but not essential.
- Travel across different sites is required and you should hold a full UK/EU driving licence.
