Project Supervisor in Nottingham

Nottingham Full-Time No home office possible
National Grid

About the role

Great Britain’s electricity network is undergoing one of the most ambitious and important transformations in its history. Together with industry partners, we’re building a cleaner, greener energy system—one that protects the planet and powers generations to come. As a Project Supervisor, you’ll be right at the centre of this national mission.

You’ll support the delivery of some of our most high‑profile infrastructure programmes in the East Midlands, including:

Brinsworth to High Marnham Uprating Project
A complex, multi‑site programme featuring three new substation builds alongside overhead line reconductoring. Experience within substation environments is desirable.

SCRE & WRRE Programmes
Nationally significant, fast‑paced reconductoring projects spanning over 100km across Nottinghamshire. These site‑led projects are upgrading existing overhead lines to unlock vital network capacity. Overhead line (OHL) experience is desirable.

The main population centres supporting these projects include Rotherham, Chesterfield and Nottingham, so applicants should be comfortable commuting across these locations.

As a Project Supervisor, you’ll act as the Site Supervisor / Engineer’s Representative on behalf of the client, ensuring construction activities are planned, coordinated and delivered efficiently. You’ll lead on‑site assurance, working in line with National Grid policies, procedures and contractual requirements—placing safety, quality and performance at the heart of everything you do.

Within this role you will be required to travel to site 4 days per week, across the project regions within the midlands.

About You

  • Ensure that the Principal Contractor (PC) is pro‑active in discharging their duties under the CDM regulations, not least in managing all safety aspects of the construction‑based activities.
  • Ensure the facilitation of regular site safety walks, holding coordination meetings with all contractors on site.
  • Review the suitability of Risk Assessments and Method Statements.

A competitive salary between £47,000 – £55,000 – dependent on capability.
As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
