As a Senior Strategic Programme Manager, you will sit at the heart of transformation — driving delivery across a rapidly evolving landscape defined by RIIO-T3, Connections Reform, and increasing regulatory pace.

What You’ll Be Getting Up To

  • Lead complex regulatory programmes from mobilisation through delivery, ensuring alignment to company strategy, regulatory requirements and business outcomes.
  • Lead virtual project teams to deliver programme outcomes.
  • Design and run effective governance (forums, decision points, reporting and assurance) to enable timely decisions and clear accountability across multiple directorates.
  • Own integrated planning and control: manage interdependencies, identify and address risks, issues and opportunities, and maintain mitigation plans with clear owners and timescales.
  • Translate regulatory and policy developments into clear delivery plans and impacts, synthesising inputs from National Grid, Ofgem and wider industry to inform programme direction.
  • Drive communication and change across stakeholders: ensure actions are understood and delivered, and track progress against agreed milestones and intended benefits.

About You

  • Proven experience managing large programmes in regulated environments, delivering results even where things are evolving or unclear.
  • Experience leading programme teams and PMOs, creating clear ways of working, governance, reporting and assurance across complex activity.
  • An understanding of RIIO T3 (or the ability to build this quickly) and how regulatory frameworks translate into delivery plans and reporting.
  • Comfortable working across complex organisations, bringing people together and helping build alignment where priorities differ.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder skills, with confidence to engage, influence and constructively challenge senior leaders.
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to explore options, balance trade-offs, and manage risks, issues, dependencies and benefits.
