In this key role, you’ll help expand and strengthen the grid to connect and transport more renewable and low-carbon energy to homes and businesses, keeping the lights on and society moving.
As a Project Supervisor, you will be our "eyes and ears" on-site, ensuring that critical infrastructure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality. You’ll oversee a range of construction-based projects (£100k - £10m) such as HV transformer and shunt reactor installations, cable replacements, cyber security upgrades, and protection and control system replacements across London. With a company vehicle, paid travel, and a strong work-life balance culture, you’ll have the support you need to thrive. You will be expected to stay away from home from time to time, although this can vary depending on the location of projects at any one time.
Unique to this 2026 vacancy, we are seeking a candidate with a strong proficiency in data management. You will bridge the gap between physical site operations and digital project controls, ensuring that site data accurately reflects project milestones and risks.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure Principal Contractors adhere to CDM regulations and maintain a proactive safety culture.
- Data-Driven Reporting: Utilise data management systems (such as Maximo and Power BI) to track project milestones, financial forecasting, and RAID logs.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct regular safety audits and quality inspections, ensuring all "as-built" documentation is accurately digitized and stored.
- Data Management Expertise: Proficiency in managing project data systems, with experience in querying or manipulating datasets to drive decision-making (e.g., using Excel, SQL, or specific utility asset models).
Requirements:
- Minimum Level 3 NVQ / ONC in a relevant discipline to this role.
- A proven track record as a Site Supervisor/Project Lead, Data Collection and Management in the utilities or construction industry.
- Can show an understanding of CDM regulations.
- Experience of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality.
- An awareness of Project, Contract and Stakeholder management.
- Full UK driving licence.
- SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
- Proven track record in using data management systems.
- Principal Contractor Representative (PC) / Site Manager & Temporary Works Supervisor under National Grid's Processes.
- Experience of Quality management systems as supervisor under NEC.
- NEBOSH / IOSH.
Starting package up to £67,970 pa including allowance + Company Vehicle + Paid Travel. Hours – 37 Monday to Friday + Paid overtime + Bonus (2025 – up to 4%).
