To be a Superpowered member of the Company Secretariat team, helping deliver clear, high-quality governance support to the Board, senior leaders and key stakeholders across National Grid’s subsidiary companies. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Head of UK Subsidiary Governance and the wider team to keep governance simple, consistent and effective across the group. You’ll help make sure everything runs smoothly, stays compliant with legal and regulatory requirements, and supports the company’s wider governance goals.

We’re looking for someone proactive, hands-on and great to work with—someone who gets things done. You’ll build strong relationships with directors and senior stakeholders, confidently move work forward, and step up to lead when needed, including deputising for the Head of UK Subsidiary Governance.

What you'll be getting up to:

  • Deliver end-to-end governance and company secretarial support across a portfolio of group subsidiaries.
  • Plan and run Board, Committee and General Meetings, including agendas, papers, minutes and action tracking.
  • Maintain accurate statutory records and ensure timely compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide clear, practical governance advice to directors and senior stakeholders.
  • Drive consistency and continuous improvement in subsidiary governance frameworks and policies.
  • Support external reporting, including governance disclosures and Annual Report & Accounts content.
  • Coordinate internal compliance and assurance activities, including reporting and Certificates of Assurance.
  • Contribute to team success by improving processes, supporting digital initiatives, and sharing guidance and training.

A competitive salary between £67,000 - £83,000 per annum - dependent on capability. As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.   • Strong organisational, communication and IT skills, including use of governance tools like Diligent.
