National Grid is hiring a Lead Specialist, Ethics and Compliance. This role can be based in our Brooklyn, NY or Waltham, Massachusetts offices. This is a hybrid role, with a mix of office and remote work.

Job Purpose

Specialist Investigator and member of the US Ethics Team reporting to the Head of US Ethics Investigations. Responsible for execution of Ethics Investigations including participation in triage, and execution of end to end investigation process including data collection and review, interviews, investigative procedures, recommendations for dispositions, and reporting. Work closely with case managers to provide regular updates on status and findings.

Key Accountabilities

  • Work with the Ethics team to conduct intake and triage for contacts, enquiries and allegations from internal and external sources and record in the case management system (GRC);
  • Execute Ethics Investigations in line with best practices and our internal standards;
  • Prepare high quality investigation reports with supporting evidence and recommendations;
  • Help facilitate a \”safe-to-say\” culture where employees feel comfortable to raise ethics and compliance concerns;
    • Where appropriate, coordinate with SMEs to conduct investigations (e.g., Labor Relations, Security, etc.) in managing Ethics cases including, but not limited to, obtaining case updates, reviewing reports and supporting documentation, and ensuring complete and accurate case records are held in the case management system; and
  • Recommend enhancements to the Ethics Investigations process where appropriate and adopt a continuous improvement mindset.

Qualifications

  • Degree (preferred) in Human Resources, Employee Relations, JD, or other related field
  • 5+ years of progressive and extensive experience in conducting workplace investigations
  • Ability to lead with empathy and quickly establish positive rapport to facilitate investigations
  • Establish and maintain a strong working relationship with other key functions (Legal, HR, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective time management skills and ability to manage complex cases
  • Extensive knowledge of federal and state employment law a plus
  • Experience with Union and Non-Union organizations a plus
  • Travel required as needed

Salary

$138k – $162k a year in Brooklyn, NY.

$129k – $152k a year in Waltham, MA.

Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
