Pay And Benefits
- A starting salary of £55,000 to £68,000 pa, increasing with authorisations
- Company Car
- Standby Allowance + call out + Paid Overtime + Bonus + paid Training and Development
- 37 hours Mon – Fri typically 8am – 4 pm
- 26 days annual leave plus 8 statutory days
- Contribution Pension scheme max total 18%
Role Overview
If you are already a SAP and or Commissioning authorised great, if not this role initially is all about training to start with. You’ll join one of our teams, where you will spend the first 24 months on a training programme gaining experience on-site and, in the classroom, (with short stays away from home) building your skill base and safety authorisations needed to take the next big step.
As a Commissioning Engineer you will continuously strive to improve the transmission network by applying your experience and knowledge of the existing technologies which underpin it, such as GIS switchgear and future SF6 replacement technology solutions in all their variations, HV equipment such as complex cable systems, transformers and compensation equipment, HVDC systems along with protection and control. It’s also a great opportunity to be part of the transition and implementation of new technologies to transform the grid, such as hydrogen, solar, wind, AI and digitalisation, in order to play an integral role in the energy transition.
Day to day activities include commissioning new assets on to the system, partnering with designers and suppliers.
