The Role As Policy Manager
- HV Safety Rules, you will lead the strategic development, governance and continuous improvement of National Grid's High Voltage Safety Rules policies and procedures.
You'll be the recognised subject matter expert for HV Safety Rules, providing authoritative technical leadership across the business and ensuring our safety framework continues to reflect regulatory requirements, industry best practice and operational excellence.
Leading a specialist team, you'll shape policy, guide technical decision-making and provide expert advice on some of the most complex and business-critical safety matters.
You'll work alongside operational leaders, engineers and senior stakeholders to embed consistent standards, influence safe behaviours and continuously improve the way work is carried out across the network.

Requirements: Minimum HNC in Engineering (or equivalent technical qualification).
Significant experience developing, governing or applying High Voltage Safety Rules, Policies and Procedures or equivalent Operational Safety Frameworks.
The credibility and presence to act as National Grid's technical authority for High Voltage Safety Rules.
NEBOSH qualification or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
Professional registration with a recognised Engineering or Health & Safety institution.
Extensive knowledge of: Health and Safety at Work etc.

Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations.
Electrical hazard management and safe systems of work.
Electricity industry standards, codes and procedures, including those governing joint sites.
